Our Process
Preparation is key to achieving a good and excellent result
Surface Preparation
Aluminium joinery is cleaned with correct solvents and industrial degreaser to ensure the substrate is free from dust and contaminants and further wiped down to ensure paint adhesion.
A final wipe is given with a tack cloth to remove any dust on the substrate.
Surface Protection
Rubbers, glass, walls, and ceilings are all well masked up and protected from overspray.
Sanding & Etching
The substrate is sanded for adhesion purposes. The grit sandpaper used depends on the condition of the joinery. In cases where the aluminium joinery is anodised, an etch is applied to improve adhesion.
Any repairs, such as corrosion, gouges, surface scratches or dents would be rectified at this stage.
Spray & Cleanup
Typically, two coats of colour would be applied via an HVLP spray gun. This technology offers a fine finish with minimal overspray.
Note: metallics, pearls and lighter colours (white) would require a further two clear coats. to ensure the base colour does not flash through.
